Overview
80s Detune is an individual effect included with 80s Suite and extracted from the 80s Rack pitch block. It creates stereo pitch spread using separate left and right delay offsets, detune amount, tone shaping, feedback, and mix.
The front panel exposes two public modes: Classic and Micro. Classic is a simpler detune spread, while Micro adds subtle stereo motion and cross-channel interaction.
Formats
80s Detune is included as Universal 2 VST3, AU, and AAX on macOS 14 or later. The Windows 80s Suite 1.0.2 release includes native x64 VST3 and AAX.
Quick Start
- Insert 80s Detune on a mono-to-stereo or stereo track.
- Leave BYPASS off.
- Choose CLASSIC for a simpler widen effect or MICRO for animated micro-pitch spread.
- Set DETUNE for the pitch offset amount.
- Adjust LEFT DELAY and RIGHT DELAY to shape the stereo spread.
- Use TONE, FEEDBACK, and MIX to fit the effect around the dry sound.

The release installer includes the protected Factory Default preset.
Tips
- Use small DETUNE values for a subtle double-track effect.
- Increase the difference between LEFT DELAY and RIGHT DELAY for wider stereo spread.
- Use MIX below 100% when the dry part needs to stay centered and defined.
- Add a small amount of FEEDBACK for ambience, but keep it at 0% for a clean widen effect.
- MICRO mode is useful for broader animated width; CLASSIC mode is useful when you want the detune to stay more direct.
Troubleshooting
